I Get a Little Philosophical About Painting Sometimes

Updated: Feb 15, 2023

The trust placed in me by the customers whose homes I paint is the greatest compliment I can ever receive. Being asked to enter into and work on the home of a friend or family member of a past customer, or of a complete stranger, requires a tremendous leap of faith on behalf of my customers. I understand that. It is not easy for you, reading this and thinking about having work done on your home, to reach out to and invite someone you don't know to come into your home for a day, or a week, or maybe even a month, to paint the private spaces of your home.

But I have always believed that my residential painting customers are at ease knowing that every house I paint isn't merely a job to be done, but a home to be treated with care and personal attention. In some ways, residential painting is like art.

I took a little time while driving by myself recently to ponder this idea after a very personal Instagram post caused several people to decide to unfollow me. That rejection so to speak was tough. But I've learned to deal with it in a healthy way, without allowing it to impact my business. I talk a little bit about that in this video.

Tell me what you think in the comments below.
